2014 Auto Expo – Motor Show

Held at the Expo Mart in Greater Noida, 40km to the south east of Delhi, the 2014 Auto Expo Motor Show attracted 561,000 visitors. Held from 7-12 February 2014, unlike the Components Show, which was held from 6-9 February 2014, the Motor Show saw participation from 23 car and SUV manufacturers. 14 two- and three-wheeler exhibitors. 10 commercial vehicle exhibitors, and six electric vehicle makers. Highlights were exciting concepts like Ford Figo and Maruti Suzuki CIAZ; debuts like Maruti Celerio, Hyundai Santa Fe and modern generation commercial vehicles like the Eicher Pro Series and Ashok Leyland Captain Series. New two wheelers too. Set to address the growing needs and tastes of Indian automotive buyers, these could also form a strong basis for growth.

The BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid that’s more efficient, and made of lightweight carbon in an an aerodynamic design.

The Ford Figo concept looks like a compact sedan. Measuring under four metres in length, it fits into the B-segment of cars.

The CLA 45 has the DNA of an AMG. The 2-litre engine is currently the most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the world.

The New Linea comes with a new exterior and interior styling making it stylish than before.

A stylish MPV, the Mobilio is based on the Brio platform. The MPV will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

The Scania R500 Puller is powered by a 500 HP V8 engine, and features an automated gear changing system.

Hyundai’s compact sedan Xcent is based on the Grand i10 and will be powered by a 1.2-litre kappa 2 petrol engine, or a 1.1-litre diesel engine found on the Grand i10.

Built on the Vista X1 platform, the Zest is a compact sedan based on the Horizonext initiative. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

The SX4 S-Cross builds on the SX4 sedan and is neither an estate variant, nor a hatchback.

The Street 750 is powered by a Revolution X??engine specifically designed for urban riding, and fitted with premium tyres.
