About 10,000 Maruti Suzuki Ignis sold since January

Maruti Suzuki’s premium urban city car Ignis that rolled out in mid-January, amidst much musical fanfare, has sold 10,000 units so far. About 12,000 bookings are pending with more in the pipeline. Maruti Suzuki had started e-bookings for Ignis since first week of January with about 57 per cent of the cars being expected to be booked online in line with the growing trend towards digitisation. The carmaker is producing between 4,500-5,000 units of Ignis per month at its Gurgaon plant in Haryana which also manufactures the Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The Ignis is running a waiting period of 2-3 months currently. This was disclosed by RS Kalsi Executive Director Sales and Marketing on the sidelines of the Baleno RS launch. t will be remembered that when the Vitara Brezza and the premium Baleno models were launched in the last couple of years, they started with a wait of about 3 months that steadily climbed up to 9 months for the high end variants.
