Commercial vehicle major, Ashok Leyland launched its first passenger car ‘Stile’ with price starting at Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The passenger carrier vehicle has been developed by Ashok Leyland-Nissan Motor Company joint venture and follows the light commercial vehicle Dost as the JV’s second offering in the segment. Stile, a badge-engineered version of the Nissan Evalia, has managed to price the Stile about Rs 1.21 lakhs lower than the Evalia (the base Evalia XE retails at INR 8.7 lakhs ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The lower price would certainly appeal to the taxi segment and tour operators.

The Stile is powered by a 1.5 litre dCi common rail diesel engine that develops 76PS of power and 185Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI claimed mileage figure of the Ashok Leyland Stile is 19.5 kmpl. It is equipped with features such as power steering, air conditioning, front power windows, second row A/C vents with independent controls, tilt adjustable steering and central locking.

The Stile is available with seven variants on offer which allows a choice of 7 seater and 8 seater models to transport in the urban and rural areas, hotel shuttles, taxi services and ambulances. It comes in five different shades, namely, sparking white, silky grey, moon grey, passion red and imperial black. The MPV comes with a 2 year or 50,000 km warranty and will be sold through the company’s 130 LCV outlets across the country.
