In its third generation, Audi A3 has been voted the car of the year.
The car was voted as the winner by an international jury panel comprising 69 automotive journalists from 22 countries around the world. Available as a 3 door Sportback and Cabriolet, and a 5-door Sedan, the A3 is powered by a range of TFSI (direct fuel-injection) gasoline and TDI (turbo-diesel) diesel engines. The A3 Sportback could be also had as a g-tron, which can be operated using e-gas generated by Audi. Natural-gas powered, the Audi A3 g-tron travels CO2 neutral. The A3 will soon be available in an e-tron variant, which as a plug-in hybrid, will travel up to 50kms in all-electric mode. In co-operation with LichtBlick SE, which provides energy to Hamburg, Audi is offering ‘Green’ electricity to its clients.
