New Delhi; September 11, 2017:
Nirmal K Minda, CMD, Minda Industries Ltd, has been appointed as the President of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body representing India’s auto component manufacturing industry, for the term 2017-18. Ram Venkataramani, Director of India Pistons Ltd, has been appointed the Vice President of ACMA. The announcement was made at the 57th ACMA Annual Session during its Executive Committee meeting on September 8, 2017.
Announcing the new President, ACMA Director General, Vinnie Mehta, said, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nirmal K Minda as ACMA President. Minda is an industry veteran who brings in a wealth of knowledge with a strong background in automotive industry.”
Nirmal K Minda, said, “It is an honour and privilege to be appointed as President of ACMA, which is the apex body of the Indian auto component industry. Serving as the Vice President of ACMA for the past one-year has given me an understanding of the opportunities, issues and challenges being faced by the auto components industry.”
He added, “Today, the industry is going through an interesting yet challenging phase. While we have progressed well in the past, we are now entering the next phase of development, where one is witnessing several regulatory initiatives that promote lower levels of vehicular emissions, higher safety standards and greater environment protection. Considering these changes, as an industry body it is important for us to acknowledge these changes and gear towards this transformation. To stay relevant, we will have to acquire or develop relevant technologies at a much faster pace. I am confident that we will meet these challenges with the support of the government and our stake holders.”
ACMA, the apex body representing the interest of the Indian auto component industry, is actively involved in trade promotion, technology up-gradation, quality enhancement and collection & dissemination of information for this industry’s development.
