Under the aegis of Messe Frankfurt India, the 8th edition of Automotive Engineering Show is ready for another successful event at Pune.
An important automotive manufacturing destination, Pune has come to cultivate a distinct industrial and manufacturing culture. It has also come to symbolise a penchant for manufacturing world-class products – automobiles, components and more. As a witness to the journey of automobiles in India, may it be the humble Kinetic Luna, or the mighty Tata-Mercedes truck, Pune has had a strong industrial presence on the industrial map of India. As a sister city of Bremen (Germany), Pune is home to German automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and MAN. Global automakers like GM, Fiat and Piaggio and to domestic automakers like Bajaj Auto and Force Motors. As the Indian headquarter to some of the best automotive suppliers in the world, Pune and the region around it contains more than 53 large companies with a collective turnover of over US$ 1,400 million and exports worth over US$ 235 million. If the Euro 500 million investment by Volkswagen at Chakan marks the largest German investment in India thus far, the automotive supplier industry and SMEs make Pune an automotive engineering destination to reckon with.
Fast emerging as a centre for IT solutions, machine tools, and service equipment, Pune has an estimated 7000 ancillary units. A fact that makes the city and its sprawling extensions an ideal place to hold the 8th Automotive Engineering Show. Held under the aegis of Messe Frankfurt India, which conducts the biennial show ACMA Automechanika (New Delhi), the 8th edition of Automotive Engineering Show, scheduled from May 29 to May 31 (2014) at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Centre, will cover all aspects of the manufacturing chain: IT solutions in design, development, planning and manufacturing, automation systems, factory control and sensors, specialised solutions in welding including laser welding, automotive painting equipment, paint shop integrators, robotics, metrology, quality inspection and vision system. To aid vehicle and auto components manufacturers to deploy appropriate technology, the event will also help them to connect with the providers of systems and processes that optimise efficiency, quality and costs. Approaching different management levels of automotive professionals, and extending a platform to over 125 exhibitors to showcase their skills, specialities and capabilities, the Automotive Engineering Show will also look at systems that enhance manufacturing.
Visitors to this event will be able to witness the participation of well-acknowledged manufacturers of automation systems, factory control and sensors; assembly line system integrators and line builders; machining centres and metal cutting equipment; laser cutting systems, productivity enhancers, and new concepts in tools, jigs and fixtures; specialised solutions in welding including laser welding; end to end in-plant (material) handling systems, and automotive painting equipment; and paintshop integrators and robotics, and automotive electronics. The 2012 show, held at the same venue, attracted exhibitors like Metlock Precoat Services, NATRIP, Cognex Sensor India, Turck India, IFM Electronic India, Gantner Instruments, Staubli Tec Systems India, GW Precision Tools, MAHR Metrology India, Abhicor Binzel Technoweld, and WMI Konecranes India, among others.
The 8th edition, the event, with ‘automobile factory’ as its focus, will also conduct exhibitor seminars that would help the participants to reach out; highlight their capabilities and product offerings; and build a rapport with existing and potential customers. Attracting visitors from other automotive hubs in the country, the Automotive Engineering Show is set for yet another run. What makes this show particularly important is the plan by Messe Frankfurt India to turn it global, as befits the automobile sector in the country.
