Dyson to build new electric car in Singapore

The UK-based vacuum cleaner maker Dyson has selected Singapore to set up a manufacturing facility for its planned electric car. Sir James Dyson, Founder, Dyson, said that the decision reflected the international nature of its business, including its supply chain despite high operating costs. Dyson currently employs 1,100 people in Singapore where it already makes electric motors. While the construction will begin in December, the production of the vehicles is scheduled to start in 2021. The company continues to develop technology for EV at a site near to its UK headquarters in Wiltshire.
