While it has co-branding arrangement with Mahindra & Mahindra, Elofic also has many reputed OEM customers in the international market. A government recognised Export House, the company has an international warehouse in the USA.
Established in 1951, Elofic Industries Limited today has five modern filter manufacturing facilities – three at Faridabad in Haryana, a fourth at Hosur in Tamil Nadu and the fifth at Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh. After the successful marketing of its lubricating oils and greases, the company set up its own state-of-the-art oil blending unit at Faridabad in July 2012. It also markets Long Life Engine Coolants and silicon gaskets for engines. Its government recognised R&D centre at Faridabad is equipped with the latest testing and calibration equipment. With the corporate office at Faridabad and 15 marketing offices, Elofic has a widespread network of about 1000 distributors and 30,000 retailers spread throughout the country.
A pioneer in the quality movement, Elofic obtained the ISO: 9002 certification in 1995, and was among the first 10 companies in India to be awarded the QS: 9000 Certificate in 1997. It upgraded the ISO: 9002 Certification to 9001 in the year 2000. Subsequently, it became the first filter company in India to be awarded the TS 16949: 2002 Certificate in 2004, and again the first filter company to be awarded the ISO: 9001 certificates for all its branch offices for marketing. In between, it won the Rajiv Gandhi Award for Quality in 1998 and the ACMA Quality Award in 1999. The Chairman, Shri M S Sahni, received the All India Best Entrepreneur award in the Medium Industry category for 2007. Elofic has aggressive expansion and diversification plans and aims to reach a turnover of Rs 500 crore by 2017. It expects to ramp up its lubricants business with the recent inauguration of its in-house oil blending unit. While the company has been exporting 2-wheeler filters to the American and European markets for Honda and Suzuki applications since long, it has recently ventured into the domestic segment. Its domestic products include a wide range of filter elements, plastic moulded air filters and foam filters for all 2-wheeler applications of Hero, Suzuki, TVS, Royal Enfield and HMSI vehicles. It aims to build a network of 100 distributors for this segment all over the country, while offering high end products to its customers. Being a reputed player in the filter market with high quality products, the company is very bullish on its lubricating oils and domestic 2-wheeler plans.
Elofic has been increasing its in-house metal working capabilities by the addition of heavy-duty power and hydraulic presses. It has been streamlining its processes to ensure improved quality and efficiency of its products. With increasing infrastructure demands, the company launched filters for construction, earth moving and industrial filter segments during the bC India exhibition (A Bauma Conexpo Show) in Greater Noida (December 2014), thus adding a new range of products to its portfolio. Elofic is now planning an ultra modern filter plant in Gujarat to be commissioned by 2017, thereby increasing its capacity and range of products.
