Fiat’s Ranjangaon plant rolls out Jeep Compass SUV

The most anticipated SUV, Jeep Compass has finally rolled out from Fiat India’s Ranjangaon assembly plant. One of the posts on social media from the company’s executive says that the Jeep Compass will have over 65 per cent locally sourced components on the SUV. Made in India, Jeep Compass will begin exports in the fourth quarter of the on-going calendar year. The India market launch is expected in July 2017. Company’s plant in India will be a global hub to manufacture all the right-hand-drive Compass SUVs. Jeep Compass will increase the overall exports of Fiat Chryser Automobile from India. In recent years, this is the biggest bet for Fiat Chrysler in India. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, Maharashtra was present at the roll out event and the statement also says that the CM drove out the first Compass from the line around the test track. He also congratulated the company’s management for completing the facilty in 23 months since the Jeep’s headquarters in Detroit finalised the plans to manufacture the SUV in India.
