Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors announced the appointment of Girish Wagh as the ‘Head of Commercial Vehicle Business Unit’ and a member of the Executive Committee (ExCom). The announcement comes a week after Ravindra Pisharody, the executive director-in-charge of the flagging commercial vehicle business resigned from the company. Pisharody’s exit and appoitment of Girish Wagh comes at a critical juncture, as Tata Motors is undertaking a massive transformation process, with almost 1400 people losing jobs and roles and responsibilities for various key executives revised starting 1st of April under a program called Organisational Effectiveness or OE. Girish Wagh will take charge of the new responsibilities with immediate effect and will closely work with Ravindra Pisharody for a smooth transition, Tata Motors said.
