HEINZMANN’S Variable Guide Vane Actuator selected by Siemens for SGT-400

Heinzmann UK has announced that Siemens has selected the HEINZMANN VGV Variable Guide Vane Actuator for use in production of the gas turbine SGT-400 Core Engine. The product has been approved by Siemens after extensive development. HEINZMANN has reacted to the customer’s needs by working closely with the client to achieve a solution that was cost effective and technically compatible to existing core engine design. The VGV is an improvement over competitors’ equivalent units as it is purely all electric, hydraulics or pneumatics are no longer required.

Serial production has begun of quantity of 50 per annum. Development is now taking place for a similar smaller unit for the Siemens gas turbine SGT-100 Engine.
