Hyundai Launches Grand i10

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) launched its premium entry-level hatchback Grand i10. Positioned between the i10 and i20, the Grand i10 comes at a starting price of Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai). The Grand i10 is built on a new platform with a development cost of nearly Rs.1,000 crore, and features India-specific dimensions and is 100 mm longer than its European version.

The Grand i10 is also available with a diesel engine, which is powered by a 1.1 litre second generation U2 CRDi system which delivers 71 PS at the rate of 4,000 rpm and claims a mileage of 24 kmpl. The diesel engine is mated with a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is priced between Rs.5.23 lakh-to-Rs.6.41 lakh (ex-Showroom Chennai).

The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa VTVT engine with an output of 83 PS at the rate of 6,000 rpm and mileage of 18.9 kmpl. The petrol engine offers the choice of five-speed manual transmission and is priced between Rs 4.29 lakh to Rs5.47 lakh (ex-Showroom Chennai). The company will also soon launch an automatic transmission in the Grand i10.

The hatchback sports a trendy look and comes with a host of features such as smart key with push button start and stops for keyless entry/exit and ignition on/off, audio experience with integrated 2-DIN music system with first-in-segment 1GB internal memory to store and play your choice of music. Safety features include dual airbags, anti-lock braking system, central locking, engine immobiliser and rear parking sensor.

The Grand i10 is available in eight colour options including Wine Red, Stardust, Golden Orange, Phantom Black, Silky Beige, Twilight Blue, Pure White, and Sleek Silver.
