Indian Auto Company (IAC), in association with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and High-ways (MoRTH), Delhi Traffic Police and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), organised ‘Aavekshan: Safety of school children in school bus’ conclave, at India Inter-national Centre, New Delhi recently.
The conclave focused on educating schools on the use of GPS devices in school buses to ensure safety of school children as notified by CBSE. With representations from various stakeholders like MoRTH, Delhi Traffic Police, SIAM, various corporate houses and schools of Delhi, the event aimed at building a consensus on the issue of safety of school children. IAC have also represented its ‘Connected School Bus Trans-portation System’ along with display of other GPS and telematics products which can help ensur-ing a safer transportation not restricted to only school but for every road user.
The conclave saw panel discussions among prominent personalities like Veerendra Singh Rathore, Technical Consultant MoRTH; Anil Chikara, MLO Transport Department; etc. Shobhit Dixit, Senior Manager, VE Commercial Vehicles (a JV of Volvo and Eicher Motors), highlighted on the need for stringent adherence in installing GPS devices and on board cameras in all school buses thereby ensuring that the transportation of school children is safe.
