JBM Auto looking at making buses and luxury coaches in India

Indian auto component manufacturer JBM Auto is in the process of signing a joint venture agreement with Italian busmaker BredaMenarinibus to manufacture luxury buses. If the deal goes through, the Delhi-based company will set up a plant at Kosi, near Faridabad, with an initial capacity to produce 2,000 buses a year under the joint venture. The facility is expected to cost the two partners Rs 500 crore, and would go on stream by mid next year. Expected to roll out a 60-seater CNG city bus and a diesel powered coach with high local content, more details about the venture will be made available at the signing of the deal. Known as a automotive tier supplier, JBM Auto caters to the needs of clients like Ford, Honda and Fiat. The company will display its range of products at the Auto Expo 2014.
