Bajaj Auto has launched the KTM Duke 390. Second KTM offering in India, the Duke 390 is powered by a 373.3cc single cylinder, DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission. The electronic fuel injection system ensures smooth operation, the overall appearance of the bike, not very different from that of the Duke 200. Sharing the frame, suspension and a few other bits with the Duke 200, the 390 Duke, available in a (fixed) colour scheme of white, black and orange, is made at Bajaj Auto’s plant at Chakan near Pune. Having premium features like the current generation ABS from Bosch makes the Duke 390 an ideal bike for both racing as well as city and highway rides. At 373.2cc the 390 Duke would also be the first midsize sports bike in the country. It will be sold and serviced exclusively through 71 exclusive KTM Showrooms& Service centres, the country’s largest network exclusive for premium motorcycles. Boasting an impressive power to weight ratio of 300 PS per tone, unmatched by costlier and more powerful motorcycles, the Duke 390 offers impressive acceleration and top speed. Capable of doing a top speed in excess of 150kmph, Duke 390 is also highly maneuverable. Styled on the lines of the bigger KTM Dukes, the 390 Duke also comes with a radical and sharp design. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Amit Nandi, Vice President Bajaj Probiking said “With its powerful engine, light weight and easy handling the 390 Duke will be equally rewarding both for the professional rider as well as the enthusiast. KTM is a sharply differentiated brand which in a short span of time is the largest selling premium motorcycle brand in India. This position would be further strengthened with the launch of the 390 Duke.”The Duke 390 is available at an introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi.
