Car buyers for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ignis may have to wait little longer than expected. The carmaker which was already facing huge backlogs of its popular models Baleno and Brezza, is now facing surge in demand of Ignis.
According to a dealership source, Maruti Suzuki Ignis which is still in the pre-booking phase is clocking a waiting period of six to eight weeks depending upon the fuel and variant option. Maruti Suzuki initiated the e-booking of Ignis from January 1, 2017 for an amount of Rs 11,000. Targeted at Millennials, Ignis will come in both petrol and diesel fuel options, both having AMT in certain variants. The petrol variant is going to be powered by 1.2 litre petrol engine while diesel variants with 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine. The compact vehicle has four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Ignis features some of the segment first features such as Suzuki TECT Body, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX seat Anchorages, dual front airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters, pedestrian protection and full frontal, frontal offset and side impact safe.
