Maruti Suzuki stops production of SX4 sedan

Maruti Suzuki has stopped production of the SX4 sedan with the aim to clear off inventories and make way for the new Ciaz (Alivio in China?). The Ciaz will go along with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento. This new model will go on sale in July-September quarter this year. Ciaz will be powered by 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine powering the Ertiga, and a variant of Fiat’s 1.3-litre DdiS diesel engine producing 90bhp. The car could come with a more powerful 1.6-litre diesel engine to go head to head with some of its more powerful rivals.
