Mercedes-Benz India commemorated the roll-out of the 50,000th car from its manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India rolled-out the new C-Class Grand Edition from its assembly line, as the 50,000th Mercedes-Benz to be made in India.
The C-Class Grand is powered by a 4 cylinder diesel engine with 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, which enables reduced fuel consumption while delivering high output and torque. Its 4 cylinder 2143 cc engine has a rated output of 125/170 @ 3000-4200 rpm and a rated torque of 400 Nm @ 1400-2800 rpm for the diesel C 220 CDI and rated output of 137/186 @ 5600 rpm and a rated torque of 285 @ 2400-4000 rpm for the petrol C 200. The Grand also uses fuel saving technology like Eco Start Stop.
The Grand is priced at Rs 39.16 lakhs for the Diesel and Rs 36.81 lakhs for the Petrol variant respectively (all prices are ex-Showroom Pune).
