Mercedes Benz India has launched the ninth product of its ‘Made in India’ portfolio – the SUV GLC at a price of Rs 47.9 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). The local GLC will be available in both petrol and diesel options in three variants – 220 d 4MATIC Style, 20 d 4MATlC Sport and 300 4MATIC Sport.
The prices of the SUVs are – Rs 47.90 lakh (diesel, Style), Rs 51.5 lakh (diesel, Sport), and Rs 51.9 lakh (petrol). The GLC will be the fourth SUV to be locally assembled at Mercedes Benz India’s Chakan plant in Pune. Production of the GLC will commence within four months of the launch.
The Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC features 1991cc engine which churns out 180 kW output at 5,500 hp, and 370 Nm torque at 1,300-4,000 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds with maximum spped of 222 km/h. The Mercedes GLC 220 d 4MATIC comes equipped with 2,143 cc engine which gives 125 kW power at 3,000-4,200 hp, and 400 Nm torque at 1,400-2,800 rpm. It can go from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
