Cinemo and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (Melco) announced that they are collaborating together on several new in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) projects. Cinemo is a renowned producer in high performance multimedia playback, streaming, media management, connectivity and cloud access middleware for the automotive industry and its product Unified Media Player was integrated into Melco’s head unit and rear seat unit that recently went into production.
Cinemo’s universal audio functionality will be included in Melco’s new custom entry-level systems developed for a worldwide car manufacturer, providing an impressive array of performance flexibility. This creative partnership is a further extension of the Cinemo-Melco agreement first announced in 2013.
With Melco’s latest rear seat systems powered by Cinemo, distribution of content offers a unique way for users to not only always have access to their local media, but to share and access content remotely. Cinemo’s playback, connectivity, media management, UPnP as well as DLNA functionalities for easy content sharing all represent a widespread approach to a consummate entertainment environment. Melco’s Rear Seat Entertainment project with Cinemo is designated towards a worldwide car manufacturer.
