Apart from rolling out the 250,00th tractor at its facility at Greater Noida near Delhi, New Holland Fiat India (NHFI), announced expansion plans for the Greater Noida plant as well as the setting up of a new plant at Chakan near Pune. An important milestone, the roll out of the 250,000th tractor comes in three years after New Holland rolled out its 150,000th tractor, highlighting the remarkable growth in its tractor business. A subsidiary of CNH Global and part of the Fiat Industrial Group, NHFI has expanded its business vision beyond its technologically superior range of 32 hp to 75 hp tractors. The company also manufactures the 8000 family of 3- and 4-cyliner Tier 3 engines, 3 families of transmissions and other components. In fact, it has become the first company in India to offer complete farming solutions from sowing to harvesting with a wide range of implements and hay and forage equipment, as well as specialized mechanization. Its unique product offering includes sugarcane harvesters, biomass solutions, balers, mowers and choppers. Apart from increasing the production capacity at its Greater Noida factory to reach 60,000 tractors within two years, NHFI plans to set up a new plant at Chakan in Maharashtra to manufacture sugarcane harvesters, cotton pickers and combine harvesters. The new factory is expected to be operational by 2015. These plans are in line with the company’s aggressive growth program in India and further affirm the company’s commitment to provide complete farm mechanization solutions for a variety of crops and agricultural businesses.
