The carmaker will also launch the recently unveiled 2014 Jazz in India next year. New Honda City with diesel engine to launch next year Honda India is gearing up to add the highly anticipated all-new generation City to its existing lineup. The carmaker has reportedly announced that this new model will be launched in Japan in November and will hit the roads here in India in 2014.
The talking point, however, is the fact that the all-new City will also be available with a diesel engine which is expected to take the sales figures of the popular C-segment sedan to new heights. Expect Honda India to plonk in the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that powers the Amaze albeit in a higher state of tune and with better refinement levels.
Alongside the new City, Honda India will also launch the 2014 Jazz in India next year. Launched recently in Japan, the car is offered in three engine options: a 1.3-litre i-VTEC, a 1.5-litre i-VTEC and a Hybrid (1.5-litre petrol mated to an electric motor). This new model is quite radical both inside out with its aggressive design and eccentric interiors. Inside the cabin, the centre console replaces the conventional knobs and switches for the air-con and the audio controls with an intuitive touch-screen interface. The 2014 Jazz is already on sale in Japan. Expect Honda India to launch the new model early next year.
