Nissan price hike

Nissan has announced a price increase on selected car models to minimise the impact of rupee depreciation and escalating input costs. The increase, ranging from 1.4% to 2.9%, applies to most variants of Sunny, Micra and Micra Active. Effective October 01, 2013, the price hike according to Nitish Tipnis, Director – Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India (Nissan’s National Sales Company in India) will minimize the impact of rupee depreciation, and offest to a certain extent, the rising input costs and raw materials costs due to inflation. The price increase is marginal averred Mr Tipnis. Nissan’s announcement to increase price comes at a time when the company is preparing to launch its new compact SUV Terrano, a Nissan-ised form of the Renault Duster.
