PCL partners with EMAG for assembled camshafts technology

Precision Camshafts Ltd (PCL), a leading camshafts maker recently partnered with EMAG of Germany. The partnership aims to introduce assembled camshafts technology in India. With this tie-up, PCL will be a complete solution provider for chilled cast iron, ductile iron induction hardened and assembled camshafts for mid-size passenger cars. Currently, the company produces around 13.5 million camshafts annually for OEMs. By 2017, PCL aims to increase its capacity to 30 million, which includes 1 million of assembled camshafts and 10 millions of ductile iron camshafts. The company will invest around Rs 300 crore, out of this Rs 150 crore will be invested on manufacturing assembled camshafts. These assembled camshafts will be supplied in the next 14 months. Besides, PCL also plans to develop next generation camshafts for OEMs by 2020.
