Renault to Export Duster to UK

French auto major Renault would start exporting its sports utility vehicle ‘Duster’ to UK from its Oragadam plant by the end of this month. Currently Mahindra and Tata Motors are exporting some of their SUVs to overseas markets while major automobile manufacturers including Hyundai, Maruti and Ford India export small cars from India.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of Autoserve 2012, Mark Nassif, Managing Director Renault India, said, “We have decided to dedicate our Chennai plant as a right-hand drive hub and we will be start exporting the Duster to UK by end of this month. By going forward the company will look at East, South Africa and other Asian countries apart from all the right-hand driven market across the globe from India.”

While commenting on the Dacia Duster, Mr Nassif said, “Dacia has been a successful brand in the left-hand drive markets but it does not exist in the UK. The Duster which we will be exporting will go through some minor changes according to local market conditions in UK and other European markets.”
