SC ban on diesel vehicles: industry lost Rs 4,500 cr

The Supreme Court (SC) ban on registration of new diesel vehicles with engines of 2-litre and more has resulted the automobile industry suffer a loss of Rs 4,500 crore in eight months, according to Vinod Dasari, Managing Director of Ashok Leyland and President of SIAM. Dasari, while speaking at the 56th Annual Convention of Automobile Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), said that the automobile industry has faced numerous challenges in the recent past but contributed substantially to the manufacturing sector and has managed to grow.
