SIAM & ACMA announce AutoDX networking platform

Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers (SIAM) and Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA) has announced the setting up of a new networking platform for seamless exchange of automotive data between suppliers and OEMs called AutoDX. It is an EDI platform that was engineered to enable seamless integration of OEMs and suppliers as far as common data exchange is concerned. Launched at the 2014 Auto Expo, AutoDX will help standardise transaction data definitions, automate data exchange amongst industry players, obviate manual data entries and provide data interchange capability across the automotive industry to enable a streamlined supply chain. Some of the key benefits of employing AutoDX include its basis as the IBM Sterling B2B collaboration network solution, which would ensures a synchronised supply chain that allows collaboration across multiple enterprises by standardising the Indian automotive industry data formats and data exchange processes, removing manual interventions, enabling web browser-based transactions, integrating all tiers of the supply chain, offering flexibility of integration based on each participants needs, and providing a real-time, rich information model. The significant benefits SIAM & ACMA members will derive from a commitment to EDI-based integration will be the ability to leverage the IBM Sterling B2B collaboration network solution. They will also derive benefits like getting the right part delivered to the right place at the right time, faster and more accurate accounts reconciliation, synchronisation of the supply chain throughout all tiers, real-time JIT/JIS, close looping of logistics and accounts reconciliation, reduction of proliferation of portals and manual efforts, introduction of collaboration and knowledge sharing, provision of a single system of record minimising offline transactions, reduction in warranty costs through streamlining of product failure information, and improved inventory management through reconciliation of part information in the future
