Skoda launched a seven-seater SUV with five driving modes and a two litre diesel engine. Right now the car is available only in one diesel variant called Style which offers a peak torque of 350 Nm with 150 PS of power. The car is priced at Rs 34.49 lakhs and is a completely knocked down (CKD) unit in India.

The Kodiaq, which is named after the Alaskan bear, is built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform and is 4687 mm long and 1882 mm wide. The headlamps and tail lamps are accompanied by a string of LED lights below them. All the light fixtures in the model are made of LEDs including the DRLs and foglamps.

The SUV is equipped with key-less entry and start system as well as a seven-speed direct-shift gearbox. It also comes in five driver modes namely, Eco, Snow, Individual, Normal, and Sport. The drive modes indicate that the car can be used for light off-roading.

The interiors boast a posh finish as well as a 10-speaker Canton speaker system, nine airbags, rear-seat air-conditioning vents and an intelligent connectivity system that allows drivers to connect their smart phones to the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are some of the connectivity systems available with the car along with an Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system. A three-zone climatronic system allows passengers to set a temperature according to their comfort.

As far as safety features are concerned, the car has outdone other SUVs in its price range with anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control as well as cruise control and a traction control system.
