Terra Motors Corporation, a manufacturer of electric two and three wheelers in Japan, has announced a foray into India. The company has introduced a 1000cc electric superbike Kiwami in India. The Kiwami has 10kW motor capacity, and is an amalgamation of advanced technology and innovation that epitomizes speed. Its rapid acceleration makes for a top speed of 160kmph. Hand-built with Japanese state-of-the-art technology, the Kiwami takes just 6 hours to charge. Once charged, the e-superbike is capable of a travel range of 200kms. To showcase the Kiwami at the 2014 Auto Expo, Terra Motors will also display a series of executive e-scooters it plans to introduce in the Indian market. Said Toru Tokushige, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Founder of Terra Motors, “India is the second largest producer of two-wheelers in the world. Hence it is an important market in our strategic growth plan and we intend to invest Rs. 300 million in the Indian market next fiscal year. With this mission, Terra Motors is set to deliver electric vehicle (EV) of high quality and services in the tradition of what consumers in India come to appreciate and expect from the Japanese industry.”
