Nissan has recorded growth of 51.3 per cent to 16,786 units for the October 2013 to January 2014 period compared to the 11,095 units in the corresponding period last year. Nissan has been expanding it sales volume in India since the launch of the new Terrano compact SUV in October 2013.
Terrano is Nissan’s fourth locally produced vehicle in India, and is built alongside the mid-sized Sunny sedan, compact hatchback Micra, sporty Micra Active and MPV Evalia at Nissan’s Oragadam facility near Chennai.
Commenting on the company’s sales, Richard Spitzer, acting chief operating officer for Hover Automotive India (Nissan’s National Sales Company) said: “We are delighted with the reception Terrano has received from the market and its impact on strengthening sales performance since October last year. We look forward to carrying this momentum into 2014, supported by models like the new Sunny sedan.”
