WABCO India, a leading supplier of technologies and services that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, recently received the “Future-ready factory award” for its Mahindra World City plant.
This world-class award was granted to WABCO India in the auto ancillary sector based on its plant’s operational performance and business results. It reflects an independent assessment of a global manufacturing excellence model and comparative metrics within the industry sector. The recognition also further differentiates WABCO’s Mahindra World City plant as one of India’s best facilities in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Analyst firm Frost & Sullivan launched the India Manufacturing Excellence Awards 14 years ago and has partnered with more than 600 manufacturing companies in India to enhance their manufacturing competitiveness using a global framework for mapping excellence.
WABCO’s Mahindra World City plant also recently received the “Export excellence award” from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in India. The plant secured first position for its unparalleled contribution to India’s net foreign exchange earnings for the year 2015-16.
“Export excellence awards” are granted annually by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry to recognize the contribution of outstanding engineering and services companies in the nation’s Special Economic Zones.
“We are honored to receive these prestigious awards for global manufacturing excellence in our industry and for recognition by the Government of India for our Mahindra World City plant as India’s premiere export hub,” said P Kaniappan, MD, WABCO India Limited. “This world-class plant has won three awards in 2017 alone, including the Total Productive Maintenance Excellence Award from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, another benchmark of global manufacturing competitiveness.”
