Work on JCB Rajasthan plant begins

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok
Gehlot, laid the foundation stone for JCB India’s fourth manufacturing plant at
Jaipur, Rajasthan, recently. Present on the occasion were Alan Blake, CEO, JCB
Group, and Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India. Built with an investment of
Rs 500 crores, the plant will come up on a plot of 115 acres. The new facility,
once operational, is expected to help the UK-based company to keep pace with
the future economic growth and strengthen its position as a market leader in
the Construction Equipment Industry. Alan Blake, CEO, JCB Group said on the occasion:
“India is a very important market for JCB and our investment in Jaipur is a
vital next step we’re taking to further strengthen our position in this growing
market. We look forward to providing products of the highest quality with the
industry-leading service to our Indian customers from Rajasthan in the same way
as we already do from our world-class factories in Haryana and
Maharashtra”. JCB, in India, already has three factories. One at
Ballabgarh, Haryana, and two at Pune. The Ballabhgarh Plant is the world’s
largest Backhoe Loader manufacturing facility, which also manufactures the JCB
Liftall ‘pick-&-carry’ crane. The two plants in Pune manufacture export
oriented fabrications and components and the heavy equipment like Tracked
excavators, Wheeled Loaders and Compactors respectively. Part of the Pune
hplant is the largest Parts & Training Center in India. The facility also
has a modern India design centre that continually innovates to develop India
specific products along with meeting the global design requirements. JCB is
also using these extensive manufacturing facilities in India to export to
Eastern Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia.
