Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha Motor has finally entered the 200-250cc entry premium motorcycle segment with its FZ25 and with this the company has filled the gap between its 150 cc Yamaha YZF R15 and 320 cc Yamaha R3. The entry premium motorcycles space in India has grown consistently over last two years. We have seen Bajaj Pulsar 200 series tasting success and TVS with its Apache TRT 200 4V has got the market buzzing.
Yamaha’s new offering is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh and while it’s the most reasonable among the 250cc motorcycle space, it might still come across as a bit expensive when compared to the likes of Bajaj Pulsars and even TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Yamaha FZ25 at the moment takes on the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda CBR 250 and among the range of Pulsars from Bajaj’s stable the bike will give competition to Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS which will soon get a BS-IV compliant engine and also expect some minor cosmetic changes with an updated price as well.
