ZF appoints Rudi von Meister as president for the Asia-Pacific region

ZF Friedrichshafen AG has appointed Rudi von Meister as the president for the Asia-Pacific region. Rudi von Meister will be based at ZF’s Asia-Pacific headquarters at Shanghai. He will instrumental in driving ZF’s growth in the region including the bundling of operations throughout the region, from the world’s most densely populated countries such as China and India through to emerging countries such as Thailand and Malaysia. Having over 20 years of knowledge of the automotive industry and the Asia-Pacific region according to Dr. Stefan Sommer, CEO, ZF, Rudi von Meister will help ZF further strengthen and expand ZF activities in the Far East. Rudi von Meister will be reporting in this function directly to J?rgen Holeksa, responsible for the Region of Asia-Pacific on the ZF Board of Management. In 2013, ZF generated approximately Euro 3 billion in the region. China, the most important individual market, accounted for around Euro 2 billion. The emerging “Next-15 countries” also already playing an important role. For example, ZF commissioned a new axle assembly plant in Kulim, Malaysia, in November 2013, taking its employee strength to 7,500 employees in the Asia-Pacific region.
