Mercedes Benz India has launched the new S-Class in India. With the Maybach luxury brand put to rest, the new S-Class marks the German auto major’s luxury flagship automobile. Available in India as a CBU as of current, the new S500 is priced at Rs 1.57 crore. Powered by a 460PS, 5-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, the car comes with a 7G-TRONIC PLUS 7 speed automatic transmission. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kmph in 4.8 seconds, the S-Class offers a luxuriousand rich environment inside. The dashboard is a combination of contemporary design featuring sleek horizontal lines. It contains two high-resolution TFT screens and a high performance Burmester 3D surround sound system with 24 speakers for pure listening pleasure. The multi-function two-spoke steering wheel offers all controls at one go, the cabin, equipped with seven colour ambient lighting (with a choice of five dimming options). The continuous business console at the rear helps carry out business activities uninterrupted. There are two individual seats and folding tables. Two temperature controlled cup holders with dimmed interior illumination, stowage compartment with a 12V socket, two USB ports and aux-in socket in conjunction with individual entertainment systems. The COMAND online NTG5 comes with animated menus and 3D effects, besides an HDD to store music and videos, WLAN hotspot, SMS display, phone contact reader, radio and navigation. Other features include four-zone climate control, exclusive scents that are dispensed out of the glove box with four options to choose from, night vision assist and much more.
